Donald's House
Donald’s House is the pseudonym used to document and identify the sonic explorations of James Isaacs. It began in the bedroom of his family home, a house located on Donald St in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne, some 10+ years ago with his older brother. Since, the project has seen him gain recognition at home, as well as internationally, as one of the more unique and interesting producers of his time. Developing a sound distinguishable as it is diverse, James draws influence from a wide range of musical and cultural expression, Whether it be from the sounds/stories of an era before his time, or the dance-floors perpetuated by his contemporaries, Donald’s House can be is fresh as it is nostalgic. James’s musical endeavours has seen him release on labels such as “Touch from a Distance”, “Permanent Vacation” and “Wax’o Paradiso” (to name a few), and has had the privilege of playing internationally at some of the world’s most renowned clubs. Whether it be collaborating in the studio, playing to dance-floors at home, or trying his luck on the international circuit, James will always be doing his best to express sonically what is within, creating the “Donald’s House” sound. Dita began her DJ career in 2014 after being mesmerised by an array of varying musical perspectives in Indonesia. Her sonic exploration led to the establishment of her ‘Interrupted’ collective, where she solidified her sound while continuing to navigate diverse musical textures. Ranging from proto-house to disco, ’90s breaks to Balearic, she’s known and admired for the distinct and nuanced sound that she’s lovingly curated over the years.
