Other local cats to support: Reegze, Lolo, and Meesap. ---- Alex (Pugilist) & Luke (Tamen) emerged on the Melbourne scene in 2016 when they moved from NZ/Barcelona respectively and were united through their love for drum & bass/jungle music and the legendary Grumpy's community. Having both worked on music in a solo capacity for many years, it wouldn't be long before they decided to get into the studio, quickly forming a powerful production duo with fresh and original takes on jungle and drum & bass, whilst crossing over into other musical genres with ease. The prolific pair have put out music on labels such as 3024, Trule, Dext, Repertoire, & Run It Red. They recently released their third vinyl EP on the prestigious Rupture Ldn label, which is a major bucket list tick for the pair. The EP has been described as “drifting between dubby tribal steppers and rolling percussion, taking its time to savor everything in between, experimenting with different tempos, textures and atmospherics!" Pugilist & Tamen’s music has received support from icons Laurent Garnier and The Blessed Madonna, alongside Djs and scene stalwarts such as Mantra, Om Unit,Tim Reaper, Jossy Mitsu, and Breaka. The boys have no signs of slowing down and are continually cooking up fresh flavours across the BPM spectrum. With EPs and singles forthcoming on Samurai, Subtle Audio and more, watch ya bass bins!
