Southern Lights Celebrates 10 Years w/Dino Sabatini & Gi (Live)

Southern Lights celebrates 10 years as an independent record label pushing the boundaries of elemental music from experimental and ambient soundscapes to contemporary techno. Headlining the 10-year anniversary party is Dino Sabatini. The Rome native is an artist whose strong body of work has helped to develop his local scene and redefine what it means to work with electronic music in the 21st century: though his sounds are completely modern, synthesized and rendered with crystal clear production, he continues to tend the deep roots of lost wisdom and mythology that have sustained human creativity for millenia. His collaboration as Modern Heads delivered one of the early releases in the Southern Lights catalogue and 2026 will see new collaborations between Dino and the label. Gi hails from Gadi (Sydney) and is part of a fresh wave of artists at the forefront of contemporary and experimental techno. Her distinct approach to generative sound design sees her work skirt the grey zones between ambient, IDM and techno, and in 2024 she launched the World of Knots label. She will performing a live set on the night. Daniel Filipovic is the founder and co-curator of Southern Lights together with Amsterdam-based Carlos Nascimento. As a DJ, his sets are a reflection of how he curates the label, taking in all things esoteric and forward thinking: from ambient, drone and dub-infused sounds through to halftime, hypnotic and experimental techno, championing vinyl as his sonic weapon of choice and drawing from a deep collection of records spanning 20+ years as a selector, collector and label owner. All artists will be performing on Wurundjeri land. We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of that land.
